Mr. Brian Gunter - Director of Bands Mr. Gunter is currently in his twentieth year as a music educator. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music from Valdosta State College and a Master’s Degree from Georgia State University. Mr. Gunter has held positions in Reidsville, Griffin, and Newnan, Georgia, and he has taught on the elementary, middle, high school, and college levels. Prior to coming to Sandy Creek, Mr. Gunter was the band director at Smokey Road Middle School in Newnan, Georgia. Mr. Gunter’s students have been selected to participate in various honor bands as well as Georgia All-State bands. Many of his students have gone on to study music in college and are now band directors and professional musicians. Mr. Gunter has been happily married for 21 years to his wife, Lisa, and has two children, Anna and Jacob. |

Mr. John Kelley - Associate Director of Bands Mr. Kelley received his Bachelor of Music Education degree from Columbus State and is currently in his seventh year of teaching. Mr. Kelley has taught at Jackson High School as Assistant Band Director and is coming to Sandy Creek from Clements Middle School in Covington. His students have received honors in music as well as college music scholarships. Mr. Kelley is a Georgia native and has been married to his wife Pamela for four wonderful years. |
